Everyone, young and old, has been influenced by the charming, unique genre of animation. Animation art is comprised of more than just cels and drawings. Please refer to the glossary page to learn about the variety of animation art to choose from.
Whether you are starting a collection of animation art, or rounding out your collection of fine art, animation has its own place in the history of art.
Great American Ink®'s art consultants are knowledgeable specifically in animation, and along with answering your questions, can give you the background stories on the pieces you are considering.
How to Care For Your Animation Art Collection
Animation art should be hung in an area that is out of direct sunlight exposure. If you put your hand flat on a wall and can feel heat on the surface of the wall, it is the wrong spot to hang your art. Pick a cool area. Do not hang art near air conditioning or heating units and ducts.
Framing
Great American Ink® is known for having some of the most beautiful frame designs. We use only the highest-quality molding, filets and linens. Great American Ink® framers are trained animation art specialists, with years of knowledge handling delicate vintage animation.
Cleaning Your Framed Art
You should clean your art with a soft cloth. Do not use any type of chemical cleaners to clean the molding. All art is framed with plexiglass, which should only be cleaned with special plexi only cleaner. Do not use Windex, the plexiglass will get a cloudy look.
